SV Arminia Hannover

Like all other Hannover clubs, Arminia lives in the shadow of 96. Founded in 1910 as FC Arminia Hannover, they joined the northern German soccer federation in 1912. However, since the club colors of green and white were already taken by Hannover SC, they played gray. A few years later, as HSC merged with HSV to form the powerful Hannover 96, the new club took white/red as their colors. This freed up the color "blue" and Arminai holds these colors to this day (yeah, although the club colors are green, go figure!)

Success on the field was very limited. Basically they ended up bouncing between the 3rd and 2nd divisions. However, in the early 1990s, they had fallen down to the 4th level, but finally climbed back up to the 3rd with a playoff win over Heider SV in 1997.

The 1998-99 season was difficult, as Arminia failed to impress. They played next season quite decently, but were never in contention to make the new combined Regionalliga.

Pub Grub The club runs it's own Gaststätte, open M-F 16:00-23:00, and one weekend homegames.
The Net The official site is finally online, . Although late to press, it looks like it will be pretty decent. Also decent is the supporter's page . Another useful fanpage , which is actually, a photography studio. But they build an unofficial site (click on the Arminia logo.)
