After reunification, the club continued to play in the regional leagues, although they ocasionally threatened to break through to a higher level. The club was now known as FSV Hoyerswerda. Unfortunately, the efforts to get promoted had a disastrous effect on the club finances, and they were forced into bankruptcy proceedings. The club was restarted as FC Lausitz, and is struggling to keep from going under. The latest reports are that they seem to have stabilized at the lower regions of the local leagues. The club went without a win for "667 days", but it ended with a 2-1 win in a local derby against Einheit in late August 2005. Things are beginning to look up, as the club is actively building up it's youth resources.

OK, it depends on your perspective. Certainly most Wessis couldn't
even find Hoyerswerda on a map. And probably most Ossis wouldn't
want to find it. But in 2005, someone put the town on the map all across
Germany. She was known as the Lausitz-Luder, basically some
talentless bimbo who made a habit of stripping and generally acting like a
whore on Germany's version of the crap "reality" series Big
Brother. OK, she'd be a hero if she had an FC-Lausitz emblem
tatooed on her derriere...As far as real heroes, one of the better
ones was Waldemar "Waldi" Adamowicz, who led the club to their
Oberliga title in 2000 and scored some 40 goals in 169 Oberliga
matches. He took over as head coach in 2005. | Zeroes |

The original official site,
www.fsv-hoyerswerda.de, was fairly complete and nicely done. It went
belly up during bankruptcy. A new site was started as www.fclausitz.de
An excellent fanpage,
www.fansdesfsv.de is also worth checking out.
