FC Nöttingen

A small club from a ex-farm village that created a sensation by promotion to the 3rd division.

The club was founded in 1957 as FC Nöttingen. There had been older clubs, such as Germannia and TSV, but they pretty much went bellyup in 1927, and the village had been without a club since then. The 34 founding members chipped in 6 DM each to get FCN started. At first, they had to play on the field of nearby Alemannia Wilferdingen. Today, the club has about 500 members.

Things were quiet until the mid 1990s, when FCN started to make their move. Four promotions in less than 10 years led to the sensational entry into the Regionalliga Süd for 2004.
