SC Paderborn 07

This club was founded in 1985, through a merger of 1.FC Paderborn and TuS Schloß Neuhaus. At that time, the name was TuS Paderborn-Neuhaus. Although this was needed, since Schloss Neuhaus is a nearby village, because the fans couldn't get excited by the long name. So in 1997, they shortened it to the current title. It remains to be seen if the Schloss Neuhäuser will revolt and secede.

The Neuhaus club traces it's roots back to around 1907, when it was formed as SV 07 Neuhaus. 3 years later it its neighbor was founded as TuS 1910 Sennelager . They remained seperate until 1970, when the combined to form the TuS Schloss-Neuhaus.

Paderborn had a decent season in 98-99. SCP briefly topped the tables in the 2nd half, and although stuttering to the finish line, improved on last year's results. However, the next year they missed out on the critical qualification for the combined Regionalliga. To make things all the more bitter, SCP was in a 3-way tie for the last two spots with Uerdingen and Elversberg. All three clubs had a Goal difference of +/- 0, but Paderborn scored the fewest goals, and lost out.
