Germany's manager's have of course been an integral part of the national team's success. However, as far as I can tell, there was no offcial manager appointed by the DFB for the first 60 matches or so. This is perhaps not too surprising, as matches were somewhat irregular anyway. And even the exact appointment time of Dr. Otto Nerz is not clear.
